Create a cabinet inventory
Number the boxes on a simple room sketch and record widths, heights and depths. Photograph doors, drawer fronts and interiors. Include water damage or missing parts so the recipient can judge the actual set rather than a flattering kitchen overview.

Get approval for the proposed set
ReBuilding Center lists complete cabinet sets with doors and drawers attached. Ask about your material and configuration before arranging removal. Keep any acceptance message with the inventory and confirm whether changes after inspection require another review.

Give the contractor the reuse plan
Explain which cabinets are approved for salvage and which are disposal. Utility disconnection, countertops and wall work need their own scope. Do not ask the hauling crew to decide whether the cabinets can safely be detached from the building.

Keep parts and destinations organized
Label reusable boxes and protect them from weather. Keep rejected material separate so it does not travel with the donation by mistake. For paid haul-away, show the complete volume and describe dense countertops or other debris independently from the cabinets.
