Ask the building what is required
Check loading hours, elevator reservations, entry procedures and any vendor-document requirements. Share these with the crew before choosing a pickup time so the proposed visit can be reviewed.

Show the tightest part of the route
Send photos of the item, doorways, hallway turns, elevator and stairs. Measure large furniture and narrow openings when practical. Tell the crew about heavy or awkward pieces rather than trying to move them yourself.

Plan parking and entry
Identify legal truck parking and the carry distance to the unit. Arrange keys or a building contact and explain the gate or elevator process. Do not assume a loading dock will be free when the crew arrives.

Prepare the unit and confirm the scope
Separate keeps from removals and clear accessible pathways. Have an authorized person ready to approve the onsite price. If building access or the item list changes, tell the crew before loading begins.

Do I need to carry my couch downstairs?

No. JunkPDX can review indoor lifting and carrying as part of the pickup. Leave the couch where it is unless the team gives different instructions, and share the stairs, turns and parking details before arrival.

Who reserves the service elevator?

Coordinate any required reservation with your building or property manager, then share the permitted window with JunkPDX. The crew needs to confirm that the proposed timing and project scope fit those access arrangements.

What if the building requires insurance documents?

Send the specific vendor-document requirements before scheduling. The team must review them before access or service can be confirmed. Do not assume a requested document or building approval is already in place.

What if the couch will not fit in the elevator?

Tell the crew before the appointment and send measurements and route photos. Stairs, furniture breakdown or another handling method may need review. Do not assume dismantling, door removal or a different exit route is automatically included.

Can I leave furniture in the hallway for collection?

Keep shared access clear and follow the building’s instructions. Tell JunkPDX where the items are so an approved pickup location can be agreed. Indoor removal may avoid moving bulky furniture into a shared corridor beforehand.
