Step-by-step
A practical plan for the job.
- 1
Name the decision-maker
Choose the authorized contact who can approve the removal scope and price. Identify any rooms or belongings that still need a family decision; keep those outside the hauling scope.
- 2
Separate keeps, sales and donations
Mark furniture and boxes by destination. If an item may have value, arrange an assessment before removal. Confirm donation acceptance and collection directly with the receiving organization.
- 3
Set a cutoff for collections
Work backward from cleaning, listing photos or a property handoff. Leave time for buyers and donation pickups, and decide what should happen if an arranged collection falls through.
- 4
Review the remaining cleanout
Show every included room, closet, garage and storage area. Approve the complete scope and onsite price before loading. Request completion photos before scheduling if the decision-maker will be away.
