Choose what really leaves
Check upper cabinets, drawers and storage boxes for heirlooms and borrowed serving pieces. Make a retained shelf before filling donation boxes. Ask household members about matching sets so a single important piece is not accidentally packed with unwanted duplicates.

Group useful items
Keep pot lids with the matching cookware and identify chipped or cracked pieces. Community Warehouse lists everyday kitchen staples but excludes fine china from its tableware category. Seek another confirmed recipient for collectibles rather than assuming the same destination fits everything.

Review countertop devices separately
Include model information, accessories and condition for appliances. Check identifiable products for recalls before offering reuse. A coffee maker without its carafe or a mixer without attachments may not be useful even if the motor still operates.

Pack for the agreed destination
Ask about fragile packing and unloading, and avoid overloading boxes of ceramics. Keep knives identifiable and obtain safe packing instructions. Do not include food, cleaning liquids or unknown pantry containers in boxes described only as kitchen donations.

Can a kitchen cleanout include the refrigerator?
List the refrigerator separately with connection and access details. Clearing cabinets does not automatically include appliance disconnection or removal.
