Count furniture and accessories separately
List tables, chairs, benches, loungers, cushions, umbrellas and bases, including pieces stored elsewhere. A heavy base or separate glass top changes the handling plan; photograph it clearly.

Inspect without testing weak furniture
Look for visible rust-through, loose joints, brittle plastic, rotten wood and unraveling synthetic wicker. Do not stand or sit on questionable pieces to prove their condition. Photograph damage where it is accessible and tell the crew if a leg, arm or seat may detach when lifted.

Flag glass and heavy components
Keep intact glass tops supported on their intended base until a handling plan is agreed. Report chips, cracks and already broken glass. Identify stone tabletops or weighted umbrella stands without trying to lift them alone. Avoid wrapping everything together in a bundle that hides sharp edges.

Prepare the yard route
Describe narrow gates, deck steps, gravel, steep paths and the distance to a practical loading location. Clear small obstacles and secure pets. Keep cushions sheltered from additional rain if reuse is possible, but do not create unstable stacks under a cover just to consolidate the set.

Separate furniture from connected equipment
List grills, heaters, propane cylinders and fire tables separately for eligibility review. Do not assume gas or electrical disconnection is included. Never hide tanks among furniture.
