Sort by activity and size
Group balls, rackets, clubs and accessories into understandable sets. Label youth and adult sizes and keep paired pieces together. Photograph bulky goals or racks separately, because a recipient wanting small gear may have no transport or storage for large equipment.

Describe wear and history
Check for damaged straps, missing fasteners and failed adjustments. Do not call protective equipment safe based only on appearance. Search identifiable models for recalls and ask the recipient whether it accepts the item category and condition.

Ask before the season or deadline
Contact the selected program before arriving with a carload. Goodwill's local directory can help locate a donation center, but acceptance still needs confirmation. A team or community program may have limited needs and should not be used as an unannounced drop-off.

Plan the remainder separately
Keep accepted donations out of the disposal pile and set a decision date for unclaimed equipment. Describe large racks, weights and assembled structures individually in a hauling request. An equipment pickup does not automatically include dismantling a fixed court or play structure.

Can weights go with household junk?
List their actual quantities and marked weights for review. Dense equipment affects handling and load weight even when it occupies little truck space.
