What should I include when offering a dining table?
Show the table assembled, its dimensions with and without leaves, and the chairs included. A complete dining set is a different offer from a table alone. Explain surface damage or loose joints and get acceptance before taking the legs off.

Inventory the complete set
Count chairs, leaves, extension rails and any protective pad. Photograph extra leaves beside the table so they are not forgotten in a closet. Mark chairs that belong to another room and are not part of the donation or removal.

Describe the top honestly
Identify glass, stone, solid wood or composite construction if known. Show cracks, loose supports and repaired legs. A thick top can require more handling than the footprint suggests, especially if it must turn on a stair landing.

Match size to the receiving program
Community Warehouse lists dining tables under five feet. Ask how an extendable table is measured before offering it. For other destinations, send the actual set and ask about matching chairs instead of assuming any table is useful.

Plan disassembly and staging
Ask the collector whether legs should stay attached. Keep bolts and brackets identified if disassembly is approved. Avoid leaning a glass or stone top against a doorway; send access photos and let the crew review how it can be moved safely.

Ask the chosen organization about the number, style and condition. Acceptance of a complete set does not automatically mean single mismatched chairs are wanted.
Can removal happen before my new table arrives?
Request a confirmed pickup window and allow a buffer before delivery. Do not rely on an unconfirmed same-day request to clear the room for an installer.
