Make a piece-by-piece inventory
Photograph the full sofa from more than one angle and count separate bases, cushions, ottomans and loose pillows. Identify left- or right-facing chaise orientation from the perspective used in the manufacturer instructions. Mark which pieces stay so a partial removal does not accidentally include the entire set.

Check connections without forcing them
Sectional modules may use brackets, latches or other connectors. Consult the maker instructions before attempting separation. Do not pull joined sections across the floor or lift one end to discover the mechanism. Tell the crew about hidden connectors, loose brackets or modules that no longer separate normally.

Flag powered and storage sections
A reclining module, charging port or storage chaise makes the sofa different from a simple upholstered couch. Empty compartments and identify connected power supplies. Keep hands away from hinges and mechanisms. Leave damaged wiring or a stuck recliner for review instead of attempting repairs before pickup.

Measure each difficult section
The corner module may be harder to maneuver than the longest straight seat. Record its width, depth and height, plus doorway and landing dimensions. Tell the crew about an elevator reservation, a long apartment corridor or a stair turn. Keep the clear route free of rugs and small tables.
