Assign plumbing preparation
Confirm who disconnects supply and waste connections and leaves the room ready for the next installer. Ask the plumber about any haul-away already included. Do not schedule the collector as though they are responsible for capping lines or correcting leaks.

Record the fixture details
For a toilet, photograph the model or flush label, tank and matching lid. For a sink, show its material, dimensions and whether a pedestal or vanity is attached. Explain chips, cracks and leftover mounting parts before it is moved.

Check reuse before booking transport

Plan weight and breakage
Cast-iron sinks and attached countertops can be much heavier than they appear. Broken porcelain can create sharp edges, so disclose damage and ask for handling instructions. Do not break fixtures into small pieces to make them seem like ordinary bagged rubbish.
