Choose what needs to be clear for the next step
A rural property cleanout can begin with the spaces needed for listing photos, a walkthrough or a move. The house, garage and detached storage may be at different stages. Name the areas you want cleared now and share the deadline during your free onsite estimate.
At a Canby, Molalla or Mulino property, check every building before describing the project as a whole-property cleanout. Include approved outdoor piles and stored household contents. An unused corner may contain belongings that stay, so a building name alone is not a removal list.

Settle family and buyer collections first
Separate keepsakes, family papers, photographs, keys and belongings someone plans to collect. Identify sold pieces and borrowed equipment. Give each pending collection a contact and a date, then keep those items out of the approved removal group.
When several people are involved, name one authorized contact to confirm what leaves and approve the price. Leave disputed or undecided belongings in place. For an inherited Aurora-area property, antiques and household furniture can be marked keep, sell, donate or remove before the crew walks through.
- Keep and undecided areas clearly marked.
- Sold or donated items with confirmed collection arrangements.
- One contact for the final removal list and price approval.
Walk the house and outbuildings as one project
List the rooms, garage, sheds and outdoor groups included in the estimate. Show furniture hidden behind boxes and items in separate storage. Photograph access to each building, including gates and the distance to possible truck parking.
Review attached fixtures, heavy equipment and unfamiliar containers separately. A contents cleanout covers agreed removals; cleaning, repairs, structure removal and utility disconnection need their own scope. Tell the crew which providers need access after hauling so the sequence is clear.
Ask for a useful first phase if the scope is large
You can ask to price the complete removal list and a smaller priority phase, such as furniture from the house before tackling the shed. Share your budget and intended result. Each phase needs its own agreed items, price and schedule; reducing the item count does not automatically halve the total.
Choose an available arrival window for the estimate and explain your listing or handoff date. A two-hour window describes arrival, not completion of a full rural cleanout. Larger jobs may involve multiple loads or visits, which should be included in the agreed plan.

Check the cleared spaces before the handoff
After the approved contents leave, walk through each included area with the onsite contact. Confirm that retained belongings remain and note any separately scheduled cleaning or repairs. If you are coordinating from out of town, discuss access, approval and completion-photo needs in advance.
