Choose a realistic destination
Photograph the couch, cushions and any damage. A charity or buyer must agree to take it; leaving it outside with a free sign does not arrange collection. If donation is declined, decide whether you will self-haul or request paid removal.

Check the couch and the current exit route
Identify a sleeper sofa, recliner or sectional and count all modules. Measure the furniture, narrowest doorway and tight turns. Show stairs, elevators, gates and legal truck parking. Mention changes since delivery, such as a new door or railing.

Include everything leaving
Show the couch, ottoman, loose cushions and any other furniture in the request. Mark sectional pieces that stay. Tell us about powered seats or parts that do not separate normally so the crew can review the handling.

Prepare without moving it yourself
Remove personal belongings, keep the couch dry and clear the carry route. Leave difficult disassembly to the agreed plan. Disclose pests, moisture or contamination before scheduling; do not conceal a condition change under a cover.

Do I need to carry the couch outside?

No. JunkPDX can carry approved furniture from inside when the route is safe. Photograph its current location instead of risking the lift yourself.

What if the couch no longer fits through the doorway?

Send dimensions and current photos of the doorway, turns and couch sections. Explain anything that changed since delivery. The crew reviews whether safe disassembly or another route is possible; altering doors, railings or the property is not automatically included.

Can I remove only part of a sectional?

Identify the exact modules that leave and those that stay. Connectors, powered seats and the stability of the remaining furniture need review before the crew separates it.

Is couch pickup free if the couch is usable?

JunkPDX provides paid hauling with a free estimate. A usable couch is not automatically accepted for donation. Arrange any independent free collection directly and confirm its requirements before relying on it.
