Appliance removal questions

Arrange any water-line or built-in connection work with the appropriate installer. Move food elsewhere, allow time for defrosting and dry the interior. Photograph the model label, appliance and narrowest parts of the exit route. Tell us about leaks, odors or an ice-maker connection, and keep shelves and bins secure for the agreed move.

Describe the contents and condition before scheduling. A standard appliance quote should not be assumed to include emptying spoiled food or cleaning the freezer. Make a separate plan for the contents, follow the manufacturer's defrosting directions and collect the water. Send photos showing whether it is a chest or upright model and where it needs to be carried from.

Say whether you have a stacked pair or an integrated laundry center, and photograph the installation and model labels. Include pedestals or spare parts only if those should leave too. Arrange water, drain, vent and utility preparation with the appropriate installer. Show closet doors and stair turns; do not assume separate machines can be carried together as one unit.

Tell the installer about the floor, threshold and countertop clearance before setting a hauling date. The appliance must be safely freed from its mounting and utility connections before ordinary pickup. Photograph the cabinet opening without disturbing it. Once extraction is resolved, confirm the disconnected appliance's location and disclose residual water, a broken door or exposed sharp edges.

The preparation and carrying plan can differ. Identify the appliance type, fuel or electrical connection, dimensions and installation height. Have the appropriate professional handle disconnection, brackets and cabinet extraction before hauling. Remove cookware from the oven and storage drawers, and name any racks or accessories that should leave. Send photos of the surrounding cabinets and moving route for review.

Start by showing how it is installed. A mounted or built-in microwave needs appropriate help with brackets, ducting and connections before it is ready for hauling. Confirm that preparation separately. Empty food and dishes, identify loose racks or the glass turntable, and leave the casing closed. Include the old stove separately if both appliances should leave.

Send the model label and installation photos before booking. Arrange appropriate help to detach the unit safely and secure the window; ordinary hauling does not automatically include that work. Keep the cooling system intact and identify hoses, brackets or controls that should leave with it. Refrigerant equipment needs disposal review, so confirm the complete scope and price before loading.

Follow the manufacturer's directions for the removable bucket, drain hose and stored water. If it connects to building equipment, have the appropriate installer prepare it. Keep the sealed cooling assembly intact, photograph the model label and disclose leaks or wheels that no longer work. Include basement stairs and tight turns when requesting the appliance review.

Ask the installer first whether old-unit removal is included. If hauling is separate, arrange it after the installer has safely disconnected, drained and prepared the heater. Send its model, dimensions and location, including stairs or a raised platform. Identify heat-pump equipment, corrosion or damaged supports so the collector can review the remaining weight and handling.

Send photos of the complete equipment, dimensions, estimated weight and the route to truck parking. Describe utility connections and whether the item is still installed. Commercial refrigerators, ice machines and other large equipment need advance review; acceptance, disconnection and loading requirements must be confirmed before scheduling. List each unit separately so the estimate reflects the actual equipment leaving.
